Conclusion

This project allowed us to apply what we learned in class to real world experience that gave insight into marketing as well as the festival circuit.

The most important lesson we learned is to physically be at the festival. You can flyer all you want, but people respond better to personal interactions. It was so rewarding to see people we had talked to on previous festival outings queue up in line to see the film. One woman in particular told us on Saturday morning that she wouldn't be able to make it to either screening but we found her in the audience on Wednesday. When you're passionate about something, people will respond, usually mirroring your excitement.

This assignment also gave us the opportunity to interact with filmmakers as well as other industry professionals, allowing us to gain insight into their success as well as make connections for the future.
